What or who do you depend on? Do you depend on your spouse, friends, your job, or your assets? In today’s world we cannot depend on the economy. We cannot depend on our jobs. Too many individuals are losing their jobs with no advance warning. Others have lost their lives savings. People will let us down from time to time.
We need to always depend on the Lord that is His desire for us. We need to have our reliance in Him. We need to place our trust in Him. Psalms 20:7 “Some trust in chariots and others in horses, but we depend on the Lord our God.” (NET) Psalms 37:5 “Depend on the Lord; trust him, and he will take care of you.” (NCV) We do not have chariots or horses today but we have other things in life that people but their trust in. Our promise that we should trust in the Lord because He will take care of us not matter what everything looks like.
We need to realize that the Lord can do what we cannot do. The Lord can do what our government cannot do. The Lord can do what the world economics cannot do. We need to turn over to the Lord our whole life; all our desires, needs, problems, and anxieties. Trust Him. He will take action and do whatever is necessary. He will help us. We need to yield to the Lord totally. Look to Him for support and guidance. Psalms 105:4 “Depend on the Lord and his strength; always go to him for help.” (NCV)
Do not just claim to depend on the Lord but truly depend, rely and trust in Him. When things are difficult go to the Lord for help. When we do not know what to do we need to go to the Lord for guidance. The Lord is always there for us and we should depend on Him every day and in every situation.
